Phone or Secure Chat Counselling
Two New Phone Counselling Options:
- You can choose to dial either a UK or a US number for counselling (we will agree the most suitable number for you to phone at the time of, or after you have booked the appointment).
- You can have counselling with more than one person at a time using UK and International telephone conferencing. In other words you could be in Germany, your partner could be in the US, and you could both have a joint telephone counselling session with us in the UK. Check out out fees page for the surprisingly low costs.
How do I apply for telephone or secure chat counselling?
- You could book online anytime (see below) or phone (or fax) us between
13:00-21:00 GMT Monday-Saturday
+44 (0)870 740 8669, +44(0)7050 694775, or fax +44 (0)7050 694776.
Offer one or two slots in
the next fortnight when you could take part in a telephone or secure chat counselling session with us.
(Today is
.)
Don't forget to leave information on how we can contact you. Alternatively
-
You will need to make your payment before the session (once it has been agreed). You can either telephone your card details through to us, or we can email you an invoice with other payment options (an online payment using our secure card payment facilities, GBP (£) cheque, or bank transfer).
-
You would then phone us or chat at the appointed time. If phoning us, you would have to bear the cost of the telephone counselling call to the UK or US number that we will agree with you.
- If you wish to have chat counselling you will need to download and install the appropriate free secure chat software from iGo-Incognito and let us know your user name before chatting. The software allows you to store a copy of the chat for future reference.
- If you want to maximise your time by emailing us material about yourself and your situation prior to the telephone or chat counselling appointment, we would be happy to receive that once the booking has been confirmed and your payment made.
Our telephone and chat counselling service is NOT a
crisis support line that you can turn to in an immediate emergency. It is only
appropriate for people who are able to think clearly about their situation and
are prepared to work through issues over a number of sessions. If you are in a
crisis you
may need to contact your friends, family, doctor, minister, social worker, or
one of the many national help lines listed in your national or local phone
directory.

Email Counselling
How can I apply for email counselling?

Please note
Our email, secure chat, and telephone counselling service is not suitable for people with a history of mental illness. You need continuing face-to-face relationships with a professional.
And if you are experiencing, or have in the past experienced serious thoughts about taking your own life, eDotCounsellor cannot offer an appropriate service. Please contact your GP or telephone the Samaritans (08457 90 90 90).
Also we are only able to offer counselling to people over the age of 18 years who are not currently receiving counselling from another professional.
Remember
-
We will tell you how to make your secure payment if we agree to counsel you.
-
It would be wrong for us to attempt to make
decisions for you, so don't contact us asking which person you should
marry or which job you should take (a lot of people do). However, we will
use online
counselling
to help you think through issues in order to make
a decision.
-
We are unable to counsel other people through
you. A lot of people contact us in unhappy relationships of some kind.
We can use online
counselling
to help
you
think about your own reactions to
the situation, but we can't make your partner or family change (neither can
you).
-
Be open with us when you engage in online
counselling
. Don't hide potentially relevant
information. For example, if you have been the victim of sexual abuse, it is
probably
relevant that we know that fairly early on.
